School Council

Our School Council are elected representatives for each class in KS1 and KS2. As nominated candidates they had to prepare and deliver a manifesto to their own class to secure votes on election day. It was a difficult choice for their friends as all of the candidates had prepared excellent presentations, showing a real understanding of the qualities needed to undertake the job. The voters took their jobs very seriously and elected their Councillors democratically, making well deserved choices. The School Councillors have ensured there are suggestion boxes in their classes and encourage their classmates to contribute their ideas about how to improve Offmore Primary. The Councillors sort through the suggestions and pass onto the Chairperson and  Vice Chairperson who then prioritise the ideas and create an agenda for the next meeting. Following each meeting, the Councillors report back to their class about decisions made. We aim to work alongside other action groups in school and our wider community to strive to make our wonderful school the best that it can be for all of us!

What we have been doing as School Council

Food Bank

At Offmore Primary the School Council were involved in helping the community. They have put a basket in the school main entrance where you can donate food for the local food bank.

Look at how much we recently collected! Every time our shopping basket is full, we visit the local food bank and hand over our donations- Offmore is very much at the heart of the community.
